The Application Process | Four Steps to Accreditation | Application Guidelines | Eligibility Criteria

The Application Process

Q-accreditation sends a message of confidence. It conveys you have nothing to hide. It tells the customer you have what it takes to certify your work. Explain to the design professional that you have undergone rigorous testing and inspection to merit your accreditation and that you are qualified to meet the certification requirements. If you're not already accredited, tell the design professional that you're willing to do so in order to prove the quality of your work. The Q's impartial, third-party assessment of your skills gives credibility to your claims.

Four Steps to Accreditation

Apply. Complete the application form and submit it along with the application payment. On the application, you will be asked to identify which sections of the Standards you want to certify. Accreditation is available in three areas: fabrication, finishing and installation. Visit www.awiqcp.org to see the current fee schedule and/or to apply online. You may also download an application form which you may submit via the mail or fax.

Test. Complete and pass a 100-question, multiple choice, open-book test on the latest edition of the Standards, as well as a 70-question, multiple choice, open-book test on the latest edition of the QCP Policies.

Submit 10 Trade References. References must include a minimum of two from general contractors, two from design professionals and two from project owners.

Qualifying Inspection. Upon completion of the above steps, a Q-representative will inspect work in your plant and two (2) recently completed projects, all of which must comply with the Standards.

Congratulations! You are now eligible to order labels or certificates of compliance to certify your QCP projects.
