News Q-Policies Revised; Effective November 1 The Q-program policies have been revised for consistency with the new Architectural Woodwork Standards (AWS). Effective November 1, all Q-accredited firms and applicants are required to abide by this version of the policies. Click here to download the updated version. IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR Q-ACCREDITED FIRMS AND PROGRAM APPLICANTS: The new Architectural Woodwork Standards (AWS) Includes a Requirement for Shop Drawings and Submittals, August 25, 2009 Section No. 1 of the soon-to-be-released AWS sets minimal requirements for shop drawings and submittals. Effective October 1, 2009, all Q-accredited woodworkers and applicants will be required to comply with this new standard. Click here to download a .pdf of the entire Submittals section of the AWS. In order to assist you in complying with these new requirements, we will post examples of compliant shop drawings and submittals on our Web site, www.awiqcp.org, within the next three to four weeks. We will also distribute several reminder notices via email and U.S. mail, so be on the lookout for additional information. Thank you for your attention to this matter as we strive to ensure you have the resources you need to comply with the new standards.
